Special BOMA/Chicago Brief

Please join us virtually on Tuesday, May 14 at 11 AM for a Special BOMA/Chicago Brief, hosted by the Communications Committee. This Brief is intended for property managers and their building ownership to discuss advocacy investments. We will focus on several recent campaigns in which we used a special association advocacy fund, the savings those campaigns have generated for member buildings, and upcoming battles we are planning.

ABOUT

Our Association maintains an Industry Defense Fund (IDF) as a special-purpose account deployed for advocacy expenses beyond our operating budget: legal fees, special research, ballot campaigns, and more. We have been engaged in multiple high-stakes campaigns over the last two years—transfer taxes, utility rate hikes, and business improvement district legislation for example—using IDF resources. We have been enormously successful in each of these campaigns and returned far more than our investment back to members, and we would like to raise additional funds for new advocacy initiatives.
